Can't cleanly remove Bing and Copilot

My several attempts have failed. The Bing screen disappears, but reopens with any attempt to open Firefox, my main browser. Are Bing and Copilot linked? The "Ask me anything" box is always included. I'd like to eliminate all aspects of the two apps.

    Manufacturer/Model

    Monitor(s) Displays
    OLD Asus 23"
    Hard Drives
    SSD 16GB

But it is more like a Firefox issue, check the start page in your browser settings.
  • Open Firefox, then select the three, horizontal lines next to the profile icon.
  • Select Options, then select the Home icon.
  • Under New Windows and Tabs, select the dropdown next to Homepage and new windows.
  • Choose the option you prefer: Firefox Home (Default), Custom URLs, or Blank Page.

Also: To remove Bing from search tools
  • Move the mouse cursor inside the search box at the top right of the Firefox window and click the down arrow next to the provider's logo.
  • From the dropdown list, select Manage Search Engines....
  • Choose the "BING" and click Remove
  • Click OK to save
Or

  • Open Firefox.
  • Click ☰. This three-line menu icon, also called the Tools button, is in the top right corner of your browser.
  • Click Settings. It's in the second-to-last grouping of menu options.
  • Click Search. You'll find this in the panel on the left side of the page next to a magnifying glass.
  • Click the drop-down menu that lists "Bing" and select a different search engine.Firefox will use the search engine that's listed under "Default Search Engine" when you type your search into the search bar or the address bar.
    • Click the "Refresh" notification to restart Firefox. Alternatively, you can close the web browser and open it again to refresh it if you don't see the notification.

Lastly, check Firefox settings in the Extension section to make sure an extension to Bing hasn’t been installed.

I apologize, but I have to "boost" this issue again. Everything I have tried, including your suggestions, Antspants, has not shut down either the Bing home screen, which now is not just a picture, but surrounded by by small "boxes" that trigger different apps, but it also persists in putting up an "Ask Me Anything" box for Copilot.
I know what these features are, but I do NOT want them. My "Everything" app shows about ten "Bing" links but none of them can be deleted. It feels as though every aspect of this is protected from removal.
I had a Firefox window that listed all my key apps for one-click opening, That is also gone. Am I going to have to remove and reinstall Firefox to get rid of this octopus-like app? Also, are there any other forums where I should post this? The problem is really making my everyday activities more difficult. Would some screen shots help to analyze the situation?
Sincere thanks for your existing suggestions. I'm just beyond my depth on this one.

Can you post some screenshots of what you’re mentioning?

Remove Firefox with REVO Free. You should also remove your Firefox Profile if Revo doesn’t do it.

Revo.

1) Don't bother using Edge - then 99% of that problem is fixed. Just delete from taskbar / shortcut etc etc.

2) Use any browser of choice instead and make default -- go through the options to point your browser at all the applications which end in ".htm or html". (Windows settings --->default applications)

3) Not sure what your problem is with FF -- I use that as my standard browser and Bing doesn't come into it.

The only time Bing rears its ugly head is if I use the Search panel on the task bar -- if there's a reg key or other trick to select a different search engine please post !!!!!! You can change the default search engine in most browsers but I think there's no way of changing the standard "system" built in seach engine.

E.g if I enter "UEFA fixtures" in the task bar search I get a bing search:

in firefox go to settings and there is homepage and new windows.
use the drop down menu and click custom url.
set this to your preferred home page.
example .. https://www.google.com/

next down on the list is search.
click the drop down menu and choose your preferred search engine.

this should now let you use your required home page and search engine.

Hope this helps and best of luck. Steve ..
