Open Settings -> Accounts -> Windows backup. Clicking on the verify link to sync passwords does nothing?

I think the OneDrive syncing right below it might make a difference. I have this for mine:

But I'm also logged in with a Microsoft account to the system, and have at least one Edge profile also syncing (though that should be netiehr here nor there).

I set up OneDrive folder syncing and still the verify button for verifying identity does nothing.

OK, just to be clear:

This is a laptop upgraded from 10 to 11?

Did you have password syncing disabled on 10?

Wait. Did 10 even offer password syncing? I know the Microsoft Authenticator app for Android offers it.... And The browsers offer it in the respective browsers for their respective accounts that you log in to - but Win11 saving PWs?

I may not be seeing it because I have somehow disabled it in the past - or because Edge is already syncing (which I rarely use as a browser except for work stuff, so....not many passwords saved there to begin with).

Clean install of Windows 11. On the desktop computer that I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 the passwords are marked as being synced and there is no option to verify identity:

30 minutes ago, I clicked on Accounts and I had the Verify Identity button next to my Microsoft Hotmail account but I clicked on it and it never cleared it. But now it seems it no longer has the Verify Identity anymore and appears I am verified.

No idea, haven't rebooted yet since I am using it as a production system so I only do reboots when the system is sluggish or after I updated something that requires a reboot. I'll post back on my next reboot.

I have the same problem as @NavyLCDR. Nothing happens when I press the Verify button.
Did @NavyLCDR find a solution?
I am trying to setup File History (to backup to an external hard drive) but it will not allow to proceed until I verify my identity.
I have just upgraded my new desktop PC from Windows 10 to Windows 11 (in case this is relevant).

At the time it was a bug in the version of Windows 11, but it was fixed in a later release.
