Solved CCleaner reg entries?

Hi,

Why do I see these on reg scan each time.

Hoping to hear your expert views.

Maybe because they are required as part of Windows? How often do you run CCleaner? My suggestion is not to use it routinely but when problems appear. I've used it since it was called CrapCleaner.

Because CCleaner does not understand these registry values. Personally, I'd forget about that tool and let Windows manage its registry on its own. Registry cleaners do more harm than good, unless you are a registry expert and know exactly what you are doing.

I use the custom clean option regularly, but reg clean occasionally.

The 1st and 3rd ones you can Reg clean... with no side affects. Been doing this since July 2021 on Win 11.
They'll return every time you run the Reg clean.

The 2nd one just add to your exclusions. So it doesn't even show on the list anymore.
CCleaner Reg clean can't remove that one.

True, I totally agree reg cleaner can do more harm than good. But being a noob have found CC to be a better when I uninstall apps to clean over any left overs...…

@Ghot , thanks. But all 3 are persistent, despite removing come back on rescan after a reboot.

The 1st and 3rd are persistent, but Reg Clean can temporarily remove them.
I like to have these two show up, so I know that Reg clean is working.

The 2nd one can't even be temporarily removed, so add it to the exclusions, so you don't "see' it anymore.

I actually went into the registry and physically removed the 2nd one, but doing so broke something.
So, I just left it alone, and added it to exclusions.

On a side note... I found what I think is the perfect Scrollbar size...
Just big enough to easily grab. They get a teeny bit bigger when you grab them.

Default size is -255 and -330 seems just about perfect.
Actually makes me like Win 11 a bit more. Doesn't make sense, but there it is.

Yeah. It really does seem to make Win 11 look much better.
Going bigger than -330, didn't work for the ScrollbaHeight.
It got in the way of the lower corner, "window resizer" handle.

So I set them both to -330 for... looks.

-330 makes the Firefox scrollbar look like this...

On the maximum setting, the scrollbars are like 2 inches wide. LOL

You have to reboot or sign out and back in to apply the change.

Do I see another clean install happening? Seriously though, I recommend not using any Reg cleaners. You're not going to see any noticeable performance improvements plus you chance hosing your system.

I agree in most cases.
But careful use of CCleaner's Reg cleaner... seems to work well.

Ofc... everyone should use backup software... anyway.

As for "improvement"... no way to really tell. But I do know that my comp reboots is 46 seconds, consistently.

Revo Uninstaller does a much better and safer job than trying to use CCleaner to clean the Registry.
