Clone with Macrium Reflect X fails.

I probably should post this on the Macrium forum, but I'll start here. I've used older versions of Macrium Reflect to clone and it always worked. I tried to clone with X (SSD to SSD) and it shows successful completion but the new drive (USB Connected) will not boot. Windows reports it can't fix it, BCDEdit can't fix it. The OS partition on the original drive shows "bootable" the cloned does not. I normally do disc image restores but I tried Clone since it worked in the past.

Anyone tried or had success with clone with the Macrium Reflect X Version?

The BIOS in my Dell Laptop doesn't give much useable data.
The biggest thing I see is the OS partition shows as bootable in the original drive, but not in the cloned drive.

No we need error message given by Windows 11 at boot time.

I tried a couple things including redoing the BCD with EasyBCD (I have dual boot).
I now get "inaccessible boot device" error message when I try to boot from the cloned drive (external connected to Thunderbolt port, although I get the same error connected to USB 3.2 port)).

Your procedure to fix the problem does not address (fix) the clone problem, If I clone a drive that is bootable, the new drive should be bootable without having to "fix it".

Are you trying to boot the cloned SSD while connected to a USB port?
That can be another problem since its not a Win2USB (Win2Go) feature.

The original SSD (Win 11 Pro) boots and works from a USB or Thunderbolt port. I tried to boot the cloned drive using the same USB port and Thunderbolt port.

The problem, as I see it, is with the clone, not exact clone.

Ok , I tried booting w/ a Win11 clone SSD plugged into a USB 2.0 & 3.0 ports, neither worked after selecting from the (USB) boot menu, they kept going back to a default Win10 OS.
So I plugged the same SSD into a eSATA w/ power port (external) & I got the whole boot menu of all my OSs on that machine.
I created the 2 - clone entries w/ easyBCD.

I don't have an eSATA port, only Thunderbolt 4 and USB 3.2 ports on my Dell Inspiron 16 5630 Laptop.
The original SSD (clone source) boots OK from either.

Originally, I was going to buy a larger internal SSD and partition that and dual boot with it but not going to buy that right now. I have a second SSD in an external USB enclosure with better cooling and what brought on the Clone attempt. I can restore to the SSD from a full drive (all partitions) image but I need to connect my docking unit so what brought on the Clone. Thus why the Clone failure question.

Mine didn't have one either so I jury-rigged one into 2 of my Desktop PCs.

I'm not using Macrium 10 - I'm remaining on (purchased) version 8, so this comment may not apply to 10. Other people could comment on this.

However, booting into the Macrium 8 environment off a USB (so the boot is independent of C:\) allows the use of a drop down menu choice to repair boot issues on a clone or restored image. I've not had to use this over 3 - 4 times, but it did work, quite rapidly.

I just used Macrium Reflect Free 8 - for personal use only (version 8.0.7783) last night.
Cloned a 1TB NVMe to 2TB NVMe without any problems whatsoever. Afterwards, I installed the new 2TB NVMe into laptop and booted up into Windows 11 Pro without any problems.

Please see my other posts regarding cloning. I hope it helps. It was so easy, it should solve your problem.

Hopefully there are X users on this forum, otherwise you could try reflect user forum or whatever it is called.

It appears it is a Macrium Reflect X issue with Win 11. I installed Macrium Reflect V8 (free version) and the bootable clone was successful. Since I have a dual boot system I created the dual boot with EasyBCD (did this with the X version Clones too).

I'm making this post using the booted Clone drive (SSD).

Well, I like testing my stuff so I tried booting the same Samsung SSD (see my above post w/ it plugged into eSATA port) this time plugged into a USB 3.0 port on the same desktop PC.
The Clone was created using Marcum Reflect Free Edition 8.0.7783
Both of the cloned OSs wouldn't boot w/ a blue screen & green screen (attached).
I guess the USB port booted clone is not in my PCs ability, at least I can test them w/ the eSATA port, the cloned insider Win11 will even update.

@SmokeMe The blue screen is what I got with the Macrium X Clone (did the clone several times and all failures).. As previously noted I have a dualboot system and I created the BCD with EasyBCD. My Dell BIOS is looking for the Windows boot manager, which I assume EasyBCD creates. I did the same thing with the Macrium 8 Clone and it works.

Good job @ fireberd.
I had to try booting the cloned Win 11 SSD plugged into the USB 2.0 port... No Joy either w/ that test.
I did get a different error message though (same on both Win11 OSs).
Image is big so I am including a thumbnail.
