Command Prompt

When I open the "Command Prompt" window, it always sets "C:\Windows\System32>" as the current directory. I know how to use the "Change Directory" command, but I've created a work folder of my own (inside my Documents folder), and I'd like to set the Command Prompt app to always use that folder as its current directory. Is there any way that can be done?

is this of any help its for Win 10 but should work on Win 11.

This is strange. I tried that, and it works -- but only when I run Command Prompt WITHOUT the admin privileges!

Probably because the change is valid for the current user. I am not sure, but you could try enabling the built-in Administrator account, login with that, repeat the change and then it should work also when you open Command Prompt as Administrator. After doing that, logout and login with your user account, then disable the built-in administrator.

Open a Command Prompt as Administrator and execute this to enable the Administrator:

net user administrator /active:yes

and this to disable it:

net user administrator /active:no
