I doubt it's the router because they posted that it's only happening on the one device.
Could depend on if the router has kicked the PC or somehow blocked the PC Mac Address. Might explain why they can only connect to Extender.
I already mentioned an adapter.
The OP is apparently already using an adapter for WiFi, has had 2 die already.
OP’s Ethernet seems to not work also
I also mentioned that it would appear to be a hardware issue (maybe adapter) because the OP reinstalled Windows yesterday and the problem still remains
- Can’t connect to router WiFi but can connect to wireless extender albeit slow.
- Doesn’t make sense as the extender is connected to the router WiFi yet the OP can’t
- Is allegedly connected via Ethernet yet the Ethernet doesn’t work
- Ethernet > Can’t make heads not tails of the Ethernet issue. Why would you need WiFi extender if the router is close enough to the PC that an Ethernet cable can connect? If it’s that close then the WiFi signal from the router directly should be ample, yet can only connect to Extender. Unless there is an Ethernet outlet that the OP plugs into in the room they are in. Again, I haven’t seen a clear answer related to Ethernet inclusion
- Photo of Ethernet shows No Internet, 1mb data in the past 30 days.
I’d like to confirm that:
A) You did the hard restart of the router
B) You have found a time where you can turn off the Extender
For the Ethernet:
If you have tried another cable & an explanation of how you connect to the router via Ethernet
I’d like to see (from that photo)
What’s in Wifi - Connect & manage section
A screenshot of the taskbar where the internet icon is, open up to show available networks for Wifi
