It is in the event logs from way back when, so it isn’t something recent :(

I have been having some performance issues hence looking into event logs, first time I have looked at them since I can’t recall when.

Obviously not serious because everything seems to be working now, but would be nice to clear it up 😀

This is not an error but a warning , big difference.
Any correction will not affect the performance issues you claim to experience.

If you check the Event Viewer of anyone you know running a system with Windows - you'll probbaly find DCOM warnings on each and everyone of them. Yet, none of those warning are reflective to issues that would bother most users (unnoticeable - since they rarely impact the functionality of a common app). Started noticing DCOM Warnings - since Windows 2000 - yet, was never in a situation - where I would need to correct them to run an app. As for the rare exceptions - they don't impact the general performance of your system - more like the functionality of a specific app accessing the local network (more relevant to a company - where all systems are connected through a local network - and transferring files back and forward through a FTP client).

Something working incorrectly, or not working at at all, is by any definition an error. The severity and impact may vary between the vents causing the error, but none the less they are still an error.

Your system reports it as a warning, not an error. Your opinion matters little.
