Hello everyone,

I know that error 87 is pretty generic, but I got the error while attempting to capture an image (of Windows 11 Pro 24H2) using DISM. I have attached the DISM log file, but I can't make heads or tails of it due to my limited mental capacity. Can anyone of you decipher the log and help me with what I am doing wrong? The capture command line is a bit convoluted, but that's all I got from searching for capture command lines. As far as the log goes, I did have some disk letter problems (wrong drive letters), but I worked those out. Now I just have to overcome this error 87.

Please note that this image was left in audit mode (for further customizations) before attempting to capture. Not sure what I can add for now.

Kind regards,

tecknot

Thanks, FreeBooter,

I realized that I omitted the name of the image file. So, now it is working ever so slowly.

If I may say, I did watch your video, but honestly it does not teach anyone how to customize Windows. It just provides for a batch file which does not allow you to choose the apps you want to keep and those you wish to discard. It does, however, show how to capture an image.

Thanks again.

Kind regards,

tecknot

I mean just as your batch file does, for instance, deleting Windows Apps (UWPs?) like Xbox or ChimpClicks.

Kind regards,

P.S. I don't need a tutorial, I already know how to do it.

You see it is better to let viewer take those actions then me going over all tweaks they may like or not.
