So this might not be Windows 11 directly, but I live in New Jersey and when I shop online some stores say my default store is in Kansas and some say elsewhere. I can click change default, but why is there such a difference? It is not just shopping as well with some other sites. In Windows 11 I have set my default location to my address.

It's the poorly designed web site(s) ... they just pick a location, any location, why not choose "a location of last resort" (i.e. it hasn't got a clue, so it'll pick anywhere knowing the user will correct it, anyway).

I live in Australia, and some of my local companies can't even identify my nearest store based on my post (your zip) code input. Pure laziness on the part of web site designers, they know I'll manually change to the correct nearest store to check stock availability, so why put too much effort into geo design components.

Frequently I get suggestions for the city 80 miles to the East but then that's where my ISP is located. I have seen the situation with a couple of clients that use a VPN, one was the other side of the country.

My internet is the new Verizon 5G home and the reception is great since there is a tower near my home. Even when I had Xfinity I had the same trouble, but never Kansas.
