Recently, MS removed free access for many users to full Teams.
Even small businesses were affected to some degree i.e. those who registered for the base setup of Teams but did not pay for enhancements (full E2 office 365 access I think). I had a business account and am now limited with what I can do with that account.
So now many have to use the cut down version Teams version with its limitations - main practical limitation being length of meeting.

Length of meeting now depends on your MS account type as below.
For normal (non business users), video calls are limited to 1 hour, and I understand you will get nagged near or just after one hour before call is cut off.
However, if you are a user of Office 365, you are allowed up to 30 hours per call. So if setting up meetings between friends like the VIP meetings, it is best to get a user with Office 365 to set it up .
For small business users you are limited to 1 hour group video calls unless you pay £3.30 (UK rates) per user for MS Teams Essential, then each user can have up to 30 hours per call.
Home Users (do not confuse with Windows Home - it just means non business users)
