+2 and recall the "Between the ears." I'm one of those that visits many sights that are informational. Or study a topic, etc. You never know if a site is safe or not, in my case. Sometime ago, I was using Defender only and visited a site, that injected Malware. Fortunately, Free Malwarebytes, took care of it. At the time, it was Win 8 and today, Defender in WIN 10, is great, but not total, in reading. Just my thoughts."Best Antivirus is between the two ears"
Somebody said that, anyway, if you are a normal windows user Defender is enough.
But if you are one of those who visits all the dubious sites, experiments with a variety of programs, installing/uninstalling, probably you need an additional safety program. Saving important files to another disk or the cloud and frequent imaging and keeping will be useful.
