Driver frustration Again!!

My opinion is that @Hazel123's suggestion that you go ahead and uninstall that Intel Driver & Support Assistant is a sound one.

Then you have the option of actually installing driver updater software from Lenovo OR just checking Lenovo periodically to see whether any new drivers are recommended for your serial number.

I like door number two, but many prefer door number one. Come on down!

The Intel Driver and Support assistant is just something than scans your computer and gives you the pop ups. It’s not part of a computer system. I downloaded it myself recently as there is one Intel driver I do need that HP doesn’t have an update for- but I think that’s just an HP thing. Once I had the one I wanted I uninstalled it again.

It probably doesn't burden the PC appreciably, but I won't keep it installed on principle. (A resident utility that updates drivers a few times a year? Brilliant.)

I wish that Intel made its drivers available in a style similar to the other industry leaders (AMD, nVidia). Intel's web site is awkward enough that I think that it must be deliberate.

Sorry if already mentioned, I didn't have the time to read all the posts. Avoid Windows Update, manually download all drivers from laptop/computer manufacturer. In case of custom-built computer download drivers from motherboard manufacturer's site and other devices manufacturer site.

To prevent Windows Update replacing your working drivers you can hide them (block them) with a utility such as Windows Update Show/Hide Tool or Windows Advanced Update Manager (WAU).

Just use the Lenovo Vantage app. It has worked well for me - although I have noticed as far as the Intel video drivers go, the app is in synch with the latest Intel offerings. I find this app particularly useful for BIOS updates - easy peasy. Click the Lenovo Vantage "Check for updates" button & it does the rest.

Vantage does not work for AMD graphics drivers. See post #7.

I'll just add as well. You mentioned "again". Have you had issues with the graphics driver before, and decided to try the Intel one? On my machine, HP doesn't have a newer graphics driver and I was having issues trying to watch videos, so took advice to use the Intel graphics driver and that did help. If it's just the graphics driver, just roll back to the earlier one, now you've uninstalled the Intel software. Then check if Lenovo site for your computer has a newer one (or let Lenovo program check and update any drivers). If you still have graphics issues after that, then maybe try the Intel one. You can actually just download it from Intel, without installing their scanning program.
