Hi everyone,

For information :

- Motherboards with Intel 6xx/7xx/8xx series chipsets : Since Intel 6xx series chipsets, ICLS-ES SWC Device is used instead of ICLS SWC Device. The ICLS SWC Drivers until v1.74.210.0 supports both ICLS & ICLS-ES SWC Devices, so it was transparent, but newer versions than v1.74.210.0 of the ICLS SWC Drivers no more supports ICLS-ES SWC Device. So if you have an ICLS SWC Driver (iclsclient.inf) newer thant v1.74.210.0 in your Driver Store Explorer, you can delete it, it will not be used.

- Motherboards with Intel 8xx series chipsets : Since Intel 8xx series chipsets, DAL SWC Device is no more used. So if you have DAL SWC Drivers (dal.inf) in your Driver Store Explorer, you can delete them, they will not be used.

In order to avoid any ambiguity, since the last Intel MEI Drivers (Drivers Only) release from today, there are download links for each platform (6xx/7xx & 8xx) which takes these into account these specificities, the thread has been updated accordingly.

Edit: File, file name as well as the link differs from the one you posted at ROG forums, too.

False positive :

8xx : VirusTotal
6xx/7xx : VirusTotal

In parallel, I submitted the both drivers packages for malware analysis by Microsoft Security Intelligence (this should avoid the Windows Defender alert for both drivers packages in a few hours/days) : Submit a file for malware analysis - Microsoft Security Intelligence

I can't do anything more on my side.

I downloaded the old file from the link at ROG forums - maybe I saw it wrong then.

The Intel DTT Drivers (Drivers Only) v9.0.11904.54113 WHQL [06/12/2024] was pulled out quickly after being posted due to an compatibility issue that caused the Intel APO app to no longer work.

If you have downloaded/installed them before these are pulled out, follow this with the Intel DTT Drivers (Drivers Only) v9.0.11903.52187 WHQL [23/10/2024] from the first post of the thread :

CLEANUP

/!\ If you already had Intel Application Optimization installed /!\
Uninstall it (Start > Settings > Apps) then restart your PC
Launch Driver Store Explorer > Check the boxes of all versions of these drivers (if you find them) :
dtt_ext.inf | dtt_sw.inf | dttcfg_ext.inf | dttcfg_sw.inf | dttui_ext.inf | dttui_sw.inf
ipf_acpi.inf | ipf_cpu.inf | ipf_ef_ext.inf | ipf_ef_sw.inf | ipf_smbus.inf
Check the box "Force Deletion" then click on the "Delete Driver(s)" button

INSTALL

Launch "Install.cmd" by right-click Run as admin > Automatic restart when install is done
Go in "Apps" folder > Install your app from the Microsoft Store shortcuts

For information : Since these Intel MEI Drivers v2452.7.1.0, ICLS-ES SWC Device is no more used with the motherboards with Intel 6xx/7xx/8xx series chipsets. So if you have an ICLS SWC Driver (iclsclient.inf) in your Driver Store Explorer, you can delete it, it will not be used.

Hi,

No, Windows Update downloads drivers for it because it's probably still in your Device Manager, but hidden :

- Go in your "Device Manager" > "View" > Check "Show hidden devices" > "Sofware components" category.
- Uninstall the "Intel(R) iCLS Client" hidden devices by right-click Uninstall device then restart your PC.
- Delete the ICLS SWC Drivers (iclsclient.inf) in your Driver Store Explorer.
