Hi everyone, I bought a Windows Hello compatible webcam a few months ago to read my face so I don't have to enter my password/pin every day with the keyboard.
I use Bitwarden for extra security for my passwords and I enabled biometric security so I can unlock Bitwarden with my face, but every time I unlock Bitwarden it asks me to confirm

the Select OK to continue screen always appears.
Senza titolo.webp

But excuse me if it identified me, why do I always have to give it confirmation? :tears:
Because what happens sometimes when I look down to confirm, for a moment the OK button disappears because it's as if it has lost my face.

Is it possible to disable this screen? I would like it to proceed automatically when it identifies me and not have me there every time clicking OK.

Thanks.

So from what I understand it is not a problem of 1Passowrd or Bitwarden but of Microsoft

Is there really no way to disable via registry or I don't know by creating a script to disable the identity confirmation?

I have already disabled the confirmation in the past always to start as administrator every program, it was a real nuisance.

I meant this:
Screenshot (554).webp

I know it's not recommended to disable it but I find it very annoying, I've been disabling it for years now

I thought that by turning off this notification, the identity confirmation notification would also be turned off.

if there is a possibility via registry or script to disable that confirmation notification that would be great, i click it 20 times a day i'm fed up :(

sorry, I use both the program installed on Windows and the browser extension.

Bitwarden must be installed on Windows if you want to use biometric unlocking.

However, I wanted to disable it for the browser extension.

the links you linked talking about the notification when bitwarden requires a passkey saving, are not what I was looking for
I am interested in disabling the notification when bitwarden is unlocking with your face via webcam without clicking OK every single time on the notification.

Edit:
But anyway I don't think it's a Bitwarden problem.
But Windows at this point.

Because I activated face login via Windows Hello on Telegram Desktop and even there the security confirmation notification always comes out to log in once it has identified me.

@TairikuOkami Before I try to use the guide you recommended I want to show you exactly what I mean.

I created a new Bitwarden account to make videos so no data is at risk, don't worry.

This is on my notebook with the fingerprint.
How to see when it recognizes the fingerprint immediately bypasses the security screen

This instead is on my desktop computer where I have Windows Hello enabled for facial recognition

As you can see in the first case with the fingerprint the access is immediate while for the access with the face you always have to confirm to continue, this thing seems absurd to me

in edge, turn these off:

maybe edge is trying to trump bitwarden password save/autofill

yes I have already deactivated everything.
I am more and more convinced that it is something directly on Windows and not Bitwarden or Browers.

Because I repeat the same thing also happens when I want to unlock Telegram Desktop.

seems to be because your desktop app has to be unlocked and then your browser extension does after:

In Bitwarden, each app or browser extension is completely independent of the others, and each must be separately unlocked. The only interaction between the Desktop app and the browser extension is the need to enable browser integration in the Desktop app when using biometrics to unlock the browser extension.

Unfortunately, due to a recently discovered encryption vulnerability, Bitwarden versions from 2024.5.0 onwards currently require the Desktop app to first be unlocked before the browser extension can be unlocked using biometrics. Previously, it was only necessary for the Desktop app to be running in the background (locked or unlocked). My understanding is that the team is in the process of determining how the biometric unlock process can be simplified without sacrificing security. Until then, you may find PIN unlock to be more convenient.
