Warning -- also BTW you will still need a USB cable for part of the process -- and it's one of those ones with the old standard connector with the thick end to go into the printer.

If you want to set up an epson wifi printer as a network printer you will get asked later in the proceedings to enter an admin password which is by default the serial number.
If there's any zero's in the serial number there's a nasty little problem :
any standard 0 in the list if you enter it like that will result in an INVALID password.
the 0 needs to be entered as the zero shown here.

The only way I could get this was to scan the barcode with a phone, logon to epson and then from the printer serial number (also shown with a standard zero) paste it into a windows notepad text file. Then use that to enter the admin password.
I was using a bog standard UK / GB keyboard -- perhaps other keyboards don't have the problem - but annoying these sorts of problems.
