That's nice in theory, but until consumers care enough to take action, it'll never happen. Consumers simply want to use their software without having to read all the "legalese" stuff. They simply want to "Agree" and move on.

I'm quite sure "you" don't agree with all in a EULA, but because you want to use that software, you click OK. So, there you go :oops:

As for fancy terms, well....

As mentioned earlier, it is possible to read the EULAs for most software and other items before purchase. They can be found on the Internet. All I expect of software after agreeing to the EULA to have the use of it. This is always what happens. The only times I've needed to hunt through the terms an conditions is when wanting to know if the program can be installed on more than one computer.

I'm not too worried by any feedback (telemetry) the software might be sending back. I expect I'm profiled to the hilt by now as many of us probably are in this present day. It hasn't affected my way of life in any way.

This is typically already stated upfront on the package or during online purchase, so you know before you even get to EULA.

Most of the time, software can be installed on more than one computer, even if the TOS says not to. .
