Explorer.exe retains memory indefinitely when opening and closing windows after the Latest update

The new update KB5055523 has caused memory leak with explorer where it jump up to 650mb which is not normal considered it never happened before i tried lots of fixes from disabling shell extensions with shellexview clean boot SFC and Dism commands and virus scans but nothing has been fixed

You can uninstall the latest Windows Update that is causing the problem
To uninstall the latest Windows 11 update, go to Settings > Windows Update > Update history, then select "Uninstall updates" and choose the update you want to remove. Click the Uninstall button and confirm your choice to complete the process

Millions of Windows 11 Users have downloaded this update and do not have issues with it.
You only hear about the people that have an issue with the update. not the Millions that say their computer is working perfectly.

FWIW, I just checked and Explorer was using 600Mb, I restarted it and it was using 65Mb. I just checked and it's using 177Mb, and I haven't done anything but type into my browser. I think maybe he has a point.

It looks like every time you open an Explorer window, you get a bump of around 12MB. I'd say that there is most certainly an issue with this update!

I have always experienced memory leak with File Explorer. I read it is common. However, I have never had mine use that much. Mine usually tops out in the 200 - 300 MB range. Killing the task temporarily brings it back down.

Well, this one seems to be more severe. It gains 12-15Mb every time you open a window, but it doesn't give any back when you close it. If you open the same window after closing it, it'll snag another 12-15Mb. I could keep that going until it got to around 400Mb, got tired of opening and closing the window. It seems it does it for any window.

Yes, restarting it whacks it back to around 65Mb.
