- win10 64 bit 20h2 ver. now it is 22h2
i'm running win ver 24h2 26,100,3775
i have 8 foscam ip cameras r2 model the do ptz. last oct i was able to view them on a pc that is the same model i'm now using. but we had a house fire and had to move for the interim.
so now to the issue. i salvaged 4 of the 8 cameras and now i'm trying to get them to run on this pc using the search tool 4 app the same app i used back then. so when i start the camera and get it all connected to the network, by the way i know it is connected because i see it on my phone with tinycam and on this pc using the VMS app from foscam.
also that other app called search tool also brings up a page called foscam. but when i open that app and search for the camera and pick it i have to log in but it wants me to install a plugin. that is called amba_5.1.0.13_win-- xxxxxxxxxxx so i down load it and i get a message telling me the app is running. so i went into the downloads in explorer and typed in amba and found all the amba files and deleted them and then i went into the pc ara and did the same and it is not finding that app.
so tried to run the most recent one and i get a message telling me the program is running and to pick yes to close it and reinstall it and that just plain fails. so it will not allow the camera to start up and show in the tab. so i go into programs and features and amba is not showing. i used cc cleaner and found amba and uninstalled it and i still get that message.
so i'm kind of out of options now. so i used ccleaner to fix all registry issues and i still get this. it kind of looks like chrome is messing with it. it thinks it is not secure also after having ccleaner repair the registry i still get that message the app is running.
so outide of deleted win11 and going back to win 10 that the camera ran good in what might i try? if all else fails i will just reinstall win10 or maybe delete all the win11 service packs and see if it runs and then as i get new service packs and wait for it to fail and then delete the last service pack. but reinstalling win 10 and waiting for win11 again will be way faster.
