Flu and Covid shots today

I had been planning to go, even had the schedule on my desktop. My oldest brother who lives 2 minutes from me in the same park called and asked if I had gotten mine yet, said he was going to go. So he picked me up and we drove over. Went in and no line right into the room, straight to the chair and poke, poke for me. My bro only got the flu as he's felt ill before when he got both together and he had Covid just a couple of weeks ago

I've never had Covid (knock head) and just as well prefer I don't

Mid October/early November is a good time to get the pokes to maximize the coverage. I had to look...my 6th Covid shot. I hope next year they have a combo shot, but 2...one in each arm is no big deal

I’ve never had Covid either which is great because my cardio and lung Dr’s said a bad dose could possibly kill me.

I’ve only ever had one Covid shot.
The reason being, is because a few years ago I was given my first (AstraZeneca) and it gave me a heart attack and left me with Pericardial Effusion.
They were an hour away from draining the fluid around the heart (Whilst I was awake) which apparently involved 4 to six different specialists and many assistants.
According to the cardio Dr it’s a big deal sticking a needle mm away from a heart, whilst guiding themselves via a monitor which they said I could watch

What? 2 posts without a conspiracy theories? What about the tracking chips or culling of the frail and elderly or those of certain ethnicity?
Sorry, just had a rough day dealing with a moron using google to find something that agreed to their preconceived belief in preparation for a personal attack. You know.... those paragraphs of wisdom that are A.I generated that are always shallow crap. Yes antspants, it revolved around QLD gov regulations as I am not too far away from you but a better place, but Google A.I melded together a mishmash of scrapings from the w.w.w and came up with a plausible and authorative sounding paragraph of utter crap. This is the future guys :eyeroll:

I have had 5 covid jabs, the 1st two the dreaded AZ when the gov was cheapskating with peoples lives and then a purposeful rotation around the other 2 that are not the AZ homebrew.
If you are ever in a situation where you have an Anesthetist asking you if you have ever had a bad reaction to anesthetics, always say yes and tell them that you came out of it projectile vomiting and trying to attack everyone in sight. The reason why they ask this question is there are basically 3 choices of drugs, the cheapo and a bit rough version (very much the analog of AZ), the more expensive and a bit more refined version and the premium version that makes you feel like a million dollars as you awake. So i fyou say no probs at all, you get the cheap stuff.
I have a bit of "Insider" knowledge on that one

I had mine a few weeks back. It was the first time I'd had both at the same time. I had a little swelling on both arms for a couple of days, but other than that, it was fine.

Allegedy, if you get a bit of a reaction that is a good sign as it means your current antibodies are still quite effective.

Nice to hear that there haven't been any confirmed cases caused by the Influenza B/Yamagata linage since 2020. I have my doubts about it being extinct though. Some of the childhood diseases we were inoculated for when I was a kid were supposed to gone but they're making a come back.
Edit: I just remembered, I had to get two smallpox shots because the first one didn't take.

I’m struggling to do anything this week.

I mentioned above that I can’t have any vaccinations. I have heart and lung diseases. Pericardial Effusion & Emphysema to name two of the worst.

I’ve been extremely precautious because my Dr’s have warned me that Covid depending on the strain, could be grave.

So my son’s comes over last week to celebrate my birthday, turns out one wasn’t feeling great but thought nothing of it. He knows the rules but came over anyway.

Turns out he had Covid. Turns out he gave it to me.

It feels like I have a car parked on my chest. Throat has razor blades in it. Can’t focus properly. I know I should be in hospital but I am waiting a little longer. When I go to hospital they put me in the cardio ward and I am permanently plugged into the machines which they wont turn the volume down on. I can not bear the noise. So I am kind of risking further problems… but the noise. Policy dictates that I can not leave the ward (or room really) unless escorted in a wheelchair. They wheel me all over the hospital for scans and xrays, tests and all sorts of crap, 3 times a day. They care but I hate it.

I’ve had a headache for 5 days that is driving me insane, can’t look up or left nor right without swords being plunged into my temples.

I’m in day 6 of feeling bad. I have gone through some pretty grave stuff in my sordid life of abuse and self inflicted pain. But this is something else.
I believe my only saving grace is that I had an influenza shot early this year that I believe is suppressing the Covid somewhat, I’d hate to know what this feels like if I didn’t have that shot.

Lady Linda (glasskuter) has been wonderful, talking me through it with her hilarious humour and warm-hearted conversations. Our interactions are hilarious. She really is, something else.

You don’t want Covid. Stay vaccinated.

Well I hope you get better soon. You are nearly through it. From what you said it sounds like you didn't get any lung issues, these recent strains are more in the head and stuff thank goodness.

Did you get any anti-viral shots? (too late now though - you have to get them early on). I did when I got COVID for the first time time the end of June. Not the normal antiviral but the one for people with heart issues. I think it really helped. I didn't suffer too much, mostly like a bad cold with side-effects like weakness and noises in my ear like a washing machine in the next room. No lingering issues.

I do or did have chest issues. Like someone was sitting on me for 2 days. It was at that point I really should of gone to the hospital. With my pericardial effusion, in layman terms: too much liquid forms around the heart, the sack that holds the liquid becomes inflamed. This puts pressure on the heart. It’s particularly dangerous. So really I don’t know if it was my lungs due to the Emphysema or the effusion.

I have made the appropriate appointments
