Future Windows 11 Clean Install Question

Hello

Thinking maybe in the future i'll possibly do one more clean install, then do a clean install fresh image with Macrium Reflect X, as previously was using Acronis, and during troubleshooting with a problem with Acronis in the past, lost my Clean Install Image backup.

So thinking maybe at some point will do another, then never hopefully delete the after clean install image.

Though might have a problem as i select for new boot drive Samsung 990 Evo Plus 1TB, Game NVME 1TB Samsung 990 Pro, and Samsung Sata 860 Evo 1tB--if and when i do another clean install, how heck will i tell apart to determine which is the 990 Evo Plus Boot drive?

I can wait if need be til sometime i can afford a 2TB Game NVMe

After you've booted into Windows Setup, pause on the first screen. Open a CMD window using Shift-F10.

Run diskpart, and type:

detail disk

Assuming they're not the same model SSD, the model description should identify which SSD is listed as disk 1, disk 2, etc.

If you don't disconnect ALL drives that are boot able, your clean install will install the OS on the target drive but the boot manager will be on the other drive that has the other OS.

Windows can be installed in two ways: Legacy-MBR or UEFI-GPT
To install as Legacy-MBR you must boot the installation drive as Legacy
To install as UEFI-GPT you must boot the installation drive as UEFI.

As you have a UEFI BIOS, you should install as UEFI-GPT
Detach any other drives from the MB.

During POST, press F12(?) to launch the boot menu. You will see two options for the USB drive. USB UEFI (Name) and USB (Name). Select USB UEFI (Name) to install as UEFI-GPT.
Go to install and delete ALL partitions on the main drive till you have one and only one unallocated space and then proceed.
If you don't want to use MS account, don't enable updates or connect to the internet during installation.

If you want to use a local account What is "oobe\bypassnro"

Thank you for the replies--really appreciate the knowledge this forum has in aspects of Windows and Computers in General


Yeah its not too hard to disconnect all other drives at all, possibly may decide to make the Samsung 990 Pro 1TB the "NEW" Boot Drive, and have Samsung 990 Evo Plus 1TB as Game Drive, and may keep the Samsung 860 Evo 1TB Sata drive as extra storage

((Yes since i have to disconnect all other drives for the process, might move the 990 Pro to the Top M.2 Slot, and place 990 Evo Plus in boards second slot versus how i have it now))

But will see on that part when i got time to tackle all of this lol

Do need to update Windows 11 USB Flash drive for that Desktop

** In future might replace the 990 Evo Plus with another Samsung 990 Pro 2TB, then use 990 Evo Plus 1TB in secondary system in the future.

Currently my secondary gaming laptop i can't even get the one stubborn screw out to get it open lol to even replace its 128GB M.2 boot drive or Hitachi 1TB Sata Game drive in that system, may just wait til now til next secondary system since gotta replace this one when Windows 10 support ends. At least newer one should be M.2 Pcie 4 compatible hopefully
