Is this graphics card GeForce RTX 3060 Ti , ok and can fit & is compatible with hp z620 Workstation?

THE TWO POWER PLUGs on this graphics card, required both connect to power plugs from the power supply...?

To conclude:

So, the graphics card RTX 3060 Ti is for the newest PCs, and this PC is too old... for this card.

Updating RAM or Graphics Card is NOT advantageous and not recommended for such an old PC, rather you can buy a new PC, and this is an exceptionally good decision...

FOR MY PURPOSE OF VIDEO EDITING, GRAPHICS DESIGN, AND PHOTO EDITING,

BEST TO HAVE A BETTER PC EG from the 2020-year model and up... or better.

If the graphics card has two 8 pin PCI-e power connectors, both must be used.

An 800W PSU should be ample. But a quick Web search didn't show what cables it has.

You may be able to provide the second 8 pin power using an adapter.

I have no opinion about upgrading a workstation of that vintage with a more current graphics card. It's a 10+ year old machine, but it was fairly high-end in its day. It has a PCI-E 3.0 graphics slot, which should be OK.

I see that it is unsupported for an upgrade to Windows 11. (You realize that you're in a Windows 11 forum, right?)

The card has two 8 pin PCI-E sockets. Both must be used.

Depends.

Some current photo editing software (Topaz AI, DXO Photolab) are very dependent on GPU power. Even a high-end CPU is much slower with them than, say, an RTX 3060 ti.

Some video software (Resolve) benefits from some special instructions that tend to not be present in current GPUs. Intel Gen 11 and later CPUs with integrated GPUs support those codecs.

Whether a 10-year-old high-end workstation like this can be updated enough to be adequate for "video editing, graphics design, and photo editing", I don't pretend to know. I hope that it has lots of RAM.

I think the OP needs to invest on a better system in terms of CPU power and RAM and not just think that having a high-end GPU will be better for his purpose in general.

Maybe so.

Looks like the highest-end CPU it might have has 8cores/16 threads. An I5-13600k (midrange desktop model) has 14 cores/20 threads, and presumably would have much better performance than an old Xeon.

But a total system replacement would cost a lot more than an RTX 3060 ti.

If he is working with a 10+ year old workstation, that suggests funds may be an issue. Especially if the PC isn't being used to produce revenue.

Use whatever type matches what you have available from your PSU.

Some people dislike them, but graphics card makers used to include the Molex-to-PCIE type with their cards.

If you wish to run Windows 11 on this machine, it won't be supported by Microsoft. It should still be possible to install it, using methods described in the Installation forum.

You have a point.

The pictured Quadro K4000 is supposed to be 241mm long. The RTX 3060 ti called out by "lselimassol" is 310mm long. I don't know whether the extra 69mm will fit. It may, because the RTX card has its PCI-E power connectors on the top, rather than the end.

(There are shorter RTX 3060 ti cards, with two fans.)

I hope that "lselimassol" can get some hands-on help, if needed.

The card has these dimensions: 310 x 131.5 x 56 mm (12.2 x 5.2 x 2.2 in)

This card is too long for many cases. It should be easy enough for the OP to use a tape measure to see if that card will fit in his case.

Maybe the OP would benefit from that, after 10 months.

Incidentally: the standard GTX 1080 uses a single 8 pin PCI-E power connector. The 3060 ti in question has 2.

Indeed it does. But I think the PSU should have enough power, so it's jus a cabling challenge. Oh and measuring as an RTX 3XXX is a bigger card as mentioned. Just seen a vid of a guy installing one in a HPZ840, might be the same deal. Didnt look hard
