Having issues ripping songs to my blank CDs

No. It knows when you are on mobile device. Chrome on android is not the same as the Chrome on PC.

1. You can use CD-RW discs, burn them the same way as CD-R. Either as Audio Disc, or Data Disc with MP3 files or indeed any other audio file type.
The differences are you can erase them and use them again. The reflectivity is lower than CD-R.

Indeed. This is a quite important step after also ensuring you use high quality CD-R discs. I've tried hundreds of brands, models and revisions. After burning tens of thousands (yes this is not an exaggeration as we ordered 20000 discs together with my friend, several times, to test out what works and what not) of audio, video and data discs , both on CDs and DVDs, I noticed certain discs were much better for audio than others. My experience with this is quite old though, and disc quality has certainly become better. I avoid burning discs these days.

Not all players read a CD-RW disc properly. Besides how many times you are going to erase it and rewrite? Your safest bet is using CD-R discs recorded at 8x speed max. Avoid cheap "noname" (aka unknown brands) discs. The cost is very low anyway, buy a well known brand like Verbatim, TDK, Maxell, Philips etc. "noname" might work but it is a matter of days until it becomes unreadable. I know that the hard way, I have lost data because I had used cheap CD-Rs.

I think it's the opposite. With the technology today, there's not much of a demand for burning CDs. I'm surprised they're still available for sale in stores.

While I was in my local Walmart yesterday and checked to see what brands they were selling. The only brand of CDs and DVDs they had was Verbatim.

Verbatim has been pretty good though...some earlier revisions were horrible though.

Apart from standard audio CDs, there were some experimental formats. One of them was the AC3 CD that instead of uncompressed audio tracks it contains Dolby Digital (aka AC3) tracks. To hear it you connected the standalone audio CD player output to a Dolby Digital receiver (decoder) which would decode it much like it would decode from a DVD movie. To produce it you use an application that can produce Dolby Digital files, but instead of the AC3 container you save it with the WAV container. This way you trick Nero or whatever burning application they are eligible files to be burned in an audio CD without conversion. I never had a Dolby Digital receiver, so I haven't tried it, but because AC3 stereo at 128K or 192K has the same quality as MP3 with the same bitrate, you can fit over 200 songs on a CD-R disc! However the limit is 99 tracks on an audio CD. Much better than 20-25 songs of a standard audio CD.

There are no issues with my disc drive. It appears that it successfully rips songs, but they just aren't playable in my car. Hi, I still rip and record to CDs. I use Roxio Creator NZT 9 (for recording), but older versions might still work for just recording to discs.

Anyway, In the software there should be an option to "Finalize" the disc after recording. Make sure that option is ticked. And yes, my CDs play in my car and any other place a that has a CD player. Sorry don't currently have the software installed to show the Finalize option due to new build.

And it doesn't matter if the CD is CD+R, or CD-R, only that the disc be finalized. If you do NOT Finalize, the disk will not play on other machines.

That said, do make sure you're using CD-R CDs, and that they're not "Music CD" as their CD recording surface is different and may (no issues here) not play on some systems. I've never had the issue, and I have plenty of "Music CDs" that I've recorded on my home recorder, and they play just fine. But unless you have a dedicated CD recorder (Pioner PDR-609) specifying those type CDs as I do, just use normal CD-R CDs on an external/internal CD-R drive.

Speaking from user experience and playing CDs in both my home CD player, and my car's CD player. Also gifted to friends. Zero play issues.

Apparently the car stereo reads only CD-R discs. No matter what he does, it won't read a DVD-R or DVD+R disc. Finalizing the disc won't make any difference. Even if it can read DVD-Video discs, it cannot read data DVDs with MP3 files, it supports only audio CDs and possibly data CDs with MP3 files.

My bad, I read your quote and I thought it was your post. I think we clarified at an older post that the CD must be finalized to be readable by all audio CD players. If it is not finalized it can only be played by special application on a computer than can read un-finalized discs.
