Help Me decide on a CPU Cooler?

Yeah I have some of that. Got it in the mail a few days ago. Waiting for the fans to arrive.

I also sanded my Noctua Base on glass with some fine Wet & Dry Sandpaper until it was all copper and super flat with a mirror finish.

This is my setup.

I have the Fractal Meshify S2 in white, it has 3 x 140mm fans (Dynamic X2 GP-14), max speeds of 1000RPM at 18.9dB (A) with an airflow of 68.4 CFM.

My BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 fan has 1 x 120mm fan in front and 1 x 135 mm fan in the center. (Silent Wings PWM Fans). The run between 1200 and 1500RPM. At idle, with my fan curve, they run at 12.8dB (A), at midrange they are 17.9dB (A) and at full speed they are just 24dB (A).

I have my RTX3080 to have the 3 fans always on, at 30% or so believe. They ramp up as required.

I have a Seasonic PSU at the bottom that pulls from the bottom and outputs the back. But it doesn't run under most loads, so it's pretty much silent.

I can barely hear anything when my PC is on.

@Ghot First fan just got delivered. Fan #2 will be in on the 6th. . . Not sure how i'm going to get it clamped with only 1 set of fan clips. . . CM is out of stock and I can't find any under $9. . I only have $9.00 left.

You only need one set of clips to install one fan.
This pic shows the clips on the front fan... by the RAM.

Later on, you can screw the new set of clips to the 2nd fan, and just attach it to the back of the cooler.
Just remember to be aware of the air flow direction with the 2nd fan. The clips will be on the other side for the 2nd fan.

The YELLOW dots show which side of the fan(s) the clips go on.
The RED dots show the direction of the air flow.

The obvious recommendation: stay with one fan for the moment. You wouldn't need to remove the cooler to install the second one, when you get the clips.

Stuff that I see online suggests that a second fan gives a pretty marginal improvement, anyway.

oh ok! I don't wanna waste thermal paste. . That stuff was expensive. . lol

To be contrary, most people run those in a push pull configuration (as shown in the image by Ghot) to improve the cooling performance.

That said, I can't speak on it as I've never run those type coolers in any of my builds. I prefer the small footprint of an AIO. That's me.

Yeah I don't put liquids in my electronics, even though I have considered it, but I just can't. . lol

Yeah, I've been using "liquids" in my builds for over 15 years. Never as single leak.

That said, I do suggest you check them from time to time. Since I do routine dusting in my system anyway, I check then. Not a single leak. And the reason I use them is because I hate those big monstrous coolers hanging off my board and bending it.

So yeah, there's pro/con to everything

what if I wanted to do a push and push? lol just teasin. . I'm gonna wait for the other fan. I only wanna have to open my case ONCE. . . It's in an odd place and a PITA to pull out and such.

lmao, I do that every 4 months. . I just done it last month, so I won't do it again until the first of January (yes I have set dates). . lol

How fast it accumulates dust greatly depends on the rpm speed of the fans... there's only so much that washable dust filters in front of the intakes can do for slowing the rate at which it starts to be clogged up once again.

If you have a front mesh panel as I do, dust builds up on that pretty fast. And why I keep a duster. The inside doesn't get as bad as the front, so it's usually every 3-4 months before I open the case to clean and inspect.

Anyway, II much prefer cases with open fronts as I think they're more air efficient in handling heat. I have a Phantek Enthoo Lux, but it never grew on me because of the blocked off front, and why it houses my backup system...

It doesn't normally sit there, but I was ripping CDs, so I needed it next to me to drop CDs in the drives. I was remote connected to it from the main system.

Yeah, I get some dust on the front of my Fractal Meshify S2, but the foam pad does a great job of stopping almost everything from making it's way inside the PC. I just took of my front and blew it out with my air compressor and a bunch of dust came out like a cloud, but almost 0 dust was found inside of my PC. I probably hadn't removed the panel in almost a year.
