Hi all,
I'm trying in vain to set up a simple shared folder at home for me and my wife. We both have Windows 11 Home versions.
For ease of explanation call them PC1 & PC2.
PC1 was updated from Win10 to 11
PC2 is a brand new PC with Win11 preinstalled.
I went through everything required to set up a network share with Network & Sharing, I ensured all the permissions were set correctly but no matter what I did nothing worked. I then decided to try an old WD My book live I had as a NAS so factory reset that and set it up from fresh.
Straightaway both PC's saw it on the network so I entered the address to the public folder on my computer (PC1) and it opened no problem. I then tried to open the public folder on PC2 but it came up windows cannot access \\Nas .....etc.
Ok so I thought this could be a firewall issue blocking it so I set up a new inbound rule but that didn't work either.
I'm now completely confused and lost as to what else I can do or try to be able to get both PC's to talk to each other - This wasn't a problem when we were on Windows 10 so I'm thinking it may have been a 'corrupted' update of Windows 11 on PC1.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can sort this out or anything else I can do to simply have 1 folder containing 2 files accessible by both PCs
Thanks Paul
