Hover over Firefox Icon on Task Bar limits list

I use Firefox as my browser and I always have multiple windows open. Hovering over the Firefox icon on the Task Bar shows a list of open windows. This has suddenly stopped showing more than 18. I used to be able to use the cursor to scroll down to see the full list but this functionality has disappeared. So when I have more than 18 windows open there is no way of opening any of the latest windows opened after 18 once minimised (eg. window 19 does not show up). How do I restore the full list functionality?

I have also noticed that the Firefox icon has another Firefox icon showing behind it (no way to access it) and I am wondering if that has anything to do with the problem.

have you tried removing/unpinning the Firefox icon from the task bar and replacing it with a fresh Firefox icon by opening the browser from the start menu. then see if it is acting the same.

best of luck, Steve ..

Yes, I tried that, peek was ticked. I unchecked it and rechecked it - still made no difference. Thanks.

I have resolved this, but involving losing all my tabs. By setting Windows 11 to "Never" combine icons on the Taskbar, I discovered I had literally hundreds of open Firefox Windows. It looked like many old ones had not been shutown. I ended up having to do a complete refresh of Firefox to get rid of them as there were far too many to do manually. This meant I had no tabs left open and for some reason my backup Tab Session Manager was also cleaned out so no record of them. I was left without my urgent work tabs and as my memory is bad I don't know what tasks I was in the middle of doing.
