Windows 11
Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3447)

Recycle Bin used to be displayed with Win10 File Explorer. Win11 File Explorer does not display Recycle Bin.

When I search with "Everything", it displays "$Recycle.Bin". How do I have Win11 File Explorer display Recycle Bin?

Also, wondering why the $ in the title?

The $ marks Hidden folders. $Recycle.Bin is shown in my File Explorer windows because I have Hidden files and folders marked to SHOW in Folder Options. The $ also functions to put the marked item at the front (top) of the list. Characters precede alphabetic letters in the order.

@Wisewiz,

A minor correction if I may: It is NOT the option to show hidden files folder and drives that will show the Recycle Bin <by itself>. To show the Recycle Bin you need two things:

1) The option to Show hidden files, folders, and drives needs to be selected as you have pointed out.

and

2) The option called Hide protected operating system files needs to be UNSELECTED.

If you test this, you will find that if you change either one of the above to the opposite state, the Recycle Bin will not be displayed in File Explorer. In order to see the Recycle Bin both conditions must be met.

Sorry for nitpicking, I just thought it important to note that there are two options that affect this behavior.

    The five 8TB drives and three 512GB SSDs are part of a DrivePool using StableBit DrivePool software. The three SSDs are devoted purely to caching for the 8TB drives. All of the important data is stored in triplicate so that I can withstand simultaneous failure of 2 disks.

Recycle Bin used to be displayed with Win10 File Explorer. Win11 File Explorer does not display Recycle Bin ... How do I have Win11 File Explorer display Recycle Bin?
If you want to see Recycle Bin in the navigation pane to the left, then turn on 'Show all folders'.

If you want to show Recycle Bin in Explorer without showing all folders:

Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}]
"System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree"=dword:00000001

Should do what you want. The same technique can be applied to other NameSpace objects such as Control Panel and the User's Folder which appear when "Show All Folders" is turned on. If you change your mind about this, delete the value or set the data to 0
