Ahhh... one of those off-road vehicles.
I mean... check that ground clearance.
Some kid throws a tennis ball in the street, and there goes a $2 mill car.
Now if you want a really SAFE vehicle... get one of these rusty old pickups.
People look in their mirrors and see this coming... they just move out of the way.

Just as a point of comparison, this was
ten million on
ALL cores yielding
25.17 seconds . To compare it with a prime number generator using a sieve algorithm for
ten million on only a
SINGLE core I got
0.02 seconds . I assume the original program used the modulus operator.

Wow something is wrong I can't seem to get under 8:50 now (compared to my last test, more than a year ago. See my quoted post above). Tried like 20 times, CPU is still reaching ~60W of TDP and temps are ~90C, so it's not throttling. Idk what's going on.

So it would seem. Run the test multiple times. I did and it was the first which was also the slowest, that I submitted. Just for curiosity I did about 10 of them and got as low as 1.62 but being a bit lazy I didn't bother to update my post.
@Carey Brown
Just for the hell of it I also did the 10,000,000 test and came out at about 35 seconds. Refer post #133. My thoughts are that the number of cores is a major determinant of total time but not the only factor at play.

Just as a point of comparison, this was ten million on ALL cores yielding 25.17 seconds . To compare it with a prime number generator using a sieve algorithm for ten million on only a SINGLE core I got 0.02 seconds . I assume the original program used the modulus operator.
There are many ways to generate Prime Numbers.
What I looked for in this topic was a Prime Number generator that would return results between one second and one minute.
This way... it would give us a comparison on
most computer types, and run fast enough, on even the oldest computers.
If you want a single thread comparison tool for seriously fast computers...
