I got into enough trouble already! So far, I've never tried to have a Local Account . . . I really don't need one.

It should be, look in Settings > Accounts. It will tell you there whether it is a local account or a Microsoft account, and underneath that whether it is an administrator.

It should be - double check to make sure. But if you've already installed apps using that account and were only present with the normal UAC prompt asking for Yes / No, then you should be.

If you were a limited account it would ask for a username and password for an account with admin level privileges to install software.
