I don't recommend it but you need to prevent SecurityHealthSystray.exe from starting.
That would be done from:

Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

It can also be disabled from your Task Manager under Startup Apps.

But I completely concur with @OAT that you should not disable it.

There's a big difference between disabling Defender service, vs. hiding the notification icon. If you want to hide the icon from the taskbar:

I wouldn't want to disable it. The yellow triangle is a warning. Click on it and Windows Security will open, showing more details.

1731863667676.png

It may be that a scan is overdue, if so click 'scan now' and when done the green tick will return. in other cases it may suggest you should turn something on. You have the choice of doing so or dismissing the warning. Either way the green tick returns and the warning will not return.

I always disable that icon from Settings > Apps > Startup, any warnings will still show up at the notifications bell in the tray.
I think we are dealing with personal preferences. We should be glad we have these options available to us.
In the case of system protection, it is my belief that more notifications are better than less.

Hover on the icon itself. What does it say?
Do you need a scan?

Brother, it's not about that, don't be so emotional and take it personally, everything you mentioned to me, I already know. I just want a registry key to change, and keep this warning permanently inactive, if such a key exists.

What is the warning? Why are you not providing any information? What is constantly nagging you in windows security?

Once you hit dismiss it should go away and not return. If not, try a repair of the windows security app.

You can't easily remove just a single icon, they are part of the DLLs and the program switches to that icon when there is 'action required' so you would break Defender by removing the icon

This yellow warning about the icon, I want to remove it via registry, so that it doesn't appear anymore (just the yellow warning, ok?)
well since you wont tell us what the warning is for and refuse to provide information, have a good one.

Got it! And thank you, congratulations for being more technical and objective in your approach – that was something missing from some people here.

You have the choice of doing so or dismissing the warning. Either way the green tick returns and the warning will not return.

Try turning off sample submission. When I did, the yellow icon would hound me every time I started the system. I turned it back on because I got sick of dismissing it.

If nothing else, MS nailed it by making the green icon turn yellow when there's an issue, because it definitely doesn't go unnoticed.

True! It always reappears if one of the options is disabled. I thought there was some registry setting that could disable this warning icon.

Usually I see that with the OneDrive entry and the App and Browser feature, changing those settings clears the icon as does running a Quick Scan. May have to restart to have the changes apply.
