I will give you the full story as it may help someone out there.
I have two laptops one is an ASUS FX505GE the other is a Dell G15 OVKDJ6 with Intel 10870 CPU , RTX3030 GPU , Samsung 970 SSD and 32 GB ram.
Both machines were fine for updates until 22635.2915 and then the ASUS did fine all the way to current rev 22635.3209 which I think is the latest.
However the Dell had to have WIN 11-64bit reinstalled from an on-line download to USB mem stick. (you will lose some apps if you do this so be prepared to re-install them.) I had to do the re-install twice, once for the 22635.2915 and once for the 22635.3130.
I am starting to suspect that the Dell has some sys config. or BIOS issues with the Co-Pilot features.
The updates failed multiple times yielding a successful download but install failure for the 22635.2915.
The 22635.3130 gave that "something did not go as planned error" not to worry we are undoing the changes.. That lead me to the second re-install of Win 11 via the USB mem stick as above. I then had success for 22635.3130 and that is where I remain with Dell Laptop.
Everything is fine with the Dell except I am no longer offered updates. The ASUS is offered updates that are easily installed every time.
The ASUS is up to 22635.3209 as of 24/02/22.
At least the Dell does not get any update offers so I do not waste any time on them. This leads me to believe that MS is aware of this problem that from my perspective has something to do with Dell laptops. I think I saw another person with an older Dell that had the something did not go as planned problem and that is why I suspect the Dell laptops in general. I could be wrong though.
