When will people get it. There is no such thing as Artificial Intelligence.

All we are seeing is INCORRECT bollards branding of advanced computer techniques with a much sexier name than "Computer Aided Heuristic Learning Techniques" or whatever.

Artifical Intelligence will only arise when computers become sentient.

It is extremely difficult to define what 'intelligence' is. A simple (and inevitably unsatisfactory) definition, might be 'the ability to solve NEW problems quickly'. The 'quickly' is needed, because individuals with 'less intelligence' may also solve the new problem eventually, but clearly, in humans a person who solves the problem more quickly is seen as more intelligent.
With regard to what we have at the moment, I suppose that the problems being solved are more to do with having a big database of previous examples, rather than anything actually 'new'.
I'm not convinced that intelligence has anything to do with sentience.

The thing that worries me about Copilot the most, is that MS generously "gave" it to Android and iOS.
That's so out of character for MS, that it's... scary. ^^

Possible reasons...

1. It's not really worth anything.
2. It's such a piece of junk that everyone should share in the misery it will bring.

But I won't deny that the thought crossed my mind.
I guess if a bunch of Greeks start climbing out of it, we'll know for sure. :D

"I’ve seen that notification, too, and when I clicked in the notification, it offered me Turn off notifications from System. I did, and have never seen it again."

If something is really amiss with security, or the PC needs some kind of important maintenance, Windows doesn't hesitate to post warnings, and doesn't need the Notifications center to do it with. I think it's kind of like telemetry. You can "create" things with Copilot.
And MS can see and probably grab a copy of any of it.

I'm not a copilot proponent by any means. I've disposed of it everywhere but in the upper right corner of Edge which I do not normally uses as my browser either. But I can say, there's been several instances where I had something my searching could not give me clear answers for, I resorted to co-pilot and it's answers either cleared up my mis-understanding or at least gave me ideas that steered me in the right direction. We're witnessing it at it's birth. Another generation on down the road, I have no doubt the world will run on it. Us older folks will never know if it will save the world or turn on us and become it's nemesis.

Even when you disable copilot in Windows/Edge, it still tries to do it's job, just like Bing. I block it via DNS, just to be sure.
