I suddenly have no sound in Edge 11, have checked all boxes that should be checked and have reset. Nothing has fixed the problem. Other than Edge all media sources/devices work fine.

Welcome to the forum. Is this what you did?

If no sound in Edge, test your sound to make sure speakers are receiving sound.
Settings>system>sound
Under "Choose where to play sound' make sure speakers are selected. Check that volume level is turned up and that sound is not muted (an X over the little speaker icon to the left of volume.) If it has an X over it, it means sound is muted. Click the icon to unmute the sound.
Click arrow to the right of speakers.
You should be on Settings>system>sound>properties page. Click the TEST button. This will verify that your speakers are receiving sound.

If that doesn't help, run the sound troubleshooter. Settings>System>Troubleshoot>Other troubleshooters>Audio

Also when viewing a video, make sure the sound is not muted in the panel of the video.

I have done ALL that before I tried this forum. JFYI I've been using computers long before Bill Gates was even born, not to mention, before I retired, I was writing programs. To reiterate my problem: All media soueces and devices are working fine still. The only problems is that sound SUDDENLY stopped working in Edge mid-listening to something and after 2 days of troubleshooting, I have found no problems with anything - there just is no sound coming from Edge.

I re-downloaded and re-installed Edge. Did nothing to fix the "no sound" problem.

How about uninstalling and reinstalling sound device driver, maybe that will help.

I did everything. Nothing worked. So, I downloaded Google Chrome. Audio works fine on it.

Running system file checker can't hurt but with your experience you've probably already done that.

So, I downloaded Google Chrome
You might also try Firefox or Opera.

You've done all kinds of tests but, you haven't tried a System Restore or have I missed it.
Those little restore points have saved me quite a few times.

When I looked into system restore, it said that in windows 11 it was not turned "on" by default, however, I use the Pro version not the Home version which can be quite different and mine came "on" by default. However, the first restore point it set automatically was a couple of hours or so after I had the problem, so it didn't work for me. But thanks.
