It's a bit confusing how many recent versions there were. I thought PD21 was the last one before 365 came inI'm still running CyberLink PowerDirector 18 which I think was the last version before it went 365. Works perfectly for me. I did buy all the effects packs for it, but have uninstalled them now as they take up enormous amounts of disk space. I still use it as a part of my video arsenal (HD Video Converter Pro, Video ReDo, DVD Fab) among others. I do a lot of video conversion work.

Anyway if anyone else ever needs to reinstall a version and find the software, all the original content packs are available to download in the effects section of the application manager. Providing you have your product code, you can just "redeem" it in the application manager, which saves it as a lifetime version for downloading whenever you want. Then you can download all the earlier versions of the effects packs as well as the ones for that version.
So you sign into your account, go to redeem, put your product code in and your version comes up to download. It downloads application manager and from the application manager you download your version and any effects packs you want to install. I downloaded all the premium and essential packs, and a couple of the travel packs. There are also wedding and romance packs. There are other packs available in a store - I think they're to buy, or they might only be for PD365 - not sure.
The one title/creative thing I wanted isn't there - it possibly no longer works in later versions of windows. But everything else seems to be there. But I've managed to create something similar below.
Once I realised you could download the effects packs onto ANY version you own, I considered putting 365 back on. But decided not to because it left me stuck in the middle of a project after an update and I didn't like that. So I've ended up putting PD21 back on again - the latest version I have before PD365. Plus all the effect packs. And have all my titles in it except the few I created in PD365.
However - that is not the same as downloaded files on a computer that can be reinstalled at any time, and it wouldn't surprise me if these application manager options disappear at some point - when they try to get everyone onto PD365 eventually. So it's annoying I can't literally "download" the files and save them. I can only download them directly into the already downloaded Powerdirector version. So trying to think of the best way to back the whole thing up - other than a system image of the whole computer.
Can't have it both ways it seems - I miss the odd little thing about 365 (it was quite slick - had some newer titles not available in the previous versions - but it wasn't backwards compatible with older versions. Plus it means paying every year.
I'd rather have a stable version - which is slightly easier to use as well and rendering might not be as quick but it's quick enough. And thank you @garioch7 for offering to help out.
