Solved Issues replacing Optane ssd with nvme

This thread has definitely confirmed my decision that I made many years ago to never again buy an HP computer.
Just don't get one with an Optane drive! I am sure they are fine if set up with a normal drive from scratch. Not all models have optane. Cooling was fine with the original manufacturer set up and drive. But with optane it is less a less flexible laptop.
I think manufacturers are going the Apple way - use it as it is and not upgradeable etc.

Good point! Samsung Magician says the drive is 53 degrees celsius. Speccy says the cpu is 54 degrees celsius.
That would be 127.4° Fahrenheit. If you want to make the degree sign it's, Alt+248 using the number pad.

It's not too bad. Yes warmer than before and fans running more but not dangerously hot. Maybe a thermal pad will help a bit.

A bit of both if that makes sense. Fairly constant but then settles for a bit. During normal use. I have no doubt if doing something intensive it would be constant for some time and the heat go up.

I just did a search and from what I found the normal temps for a NVMe drive that is not under load is 35-40° C and 60-70° C under load.
