Just got a new MiniPC today. Have not scanned it. I wonder what I will find :-)

I am beginning to think this might be isolated to the RGB software used on the Kamuri. There is nothing remotely "zero day" about the Trojan and the backdoor they have both been around for several years.
I'm sorry. I was hoping I was wrong. Just curious -- what software found this?
I used Windows Defender it is really the best of all of them simply because it is integrated into the Windows OS. The 2 malware files it found were originally used to exploit a couple of extra-special goodies Microsoft added to Windows 8, which Microsoft never bothered to fix. The trojan is used to insert the backdoor. This is typical CCP.

Actually there's that broad brush stroke thing again. No, this isn't typical of Chinese products. My experience with Asus, Lenovo, Xiaomi, Beelink and my new Trigkey is they do not routinely ship malware with purchase. Heck, I even have a Xiaomi Tablet with an altered Chinese ROM and everything has been kosher.

Not for export stuff, this is what they do with domestic software. this is not the first time this has happened. But being forewarned it is easy to deal with. Apple has had this happen in the App store. It only lasts long enough to be found and it gone.

I just scanned my system. Clean as a whistle. This now makes 7 from the same folks :-).

I really have to stop. A drug habit would be cheaper. Not that I condone that in any way, shape, or form :-)

I use them for so many things. As an example, I have one of the absolute cheapest systems available, based upon the Intel N95 CPU (the new CPU series that replaces the previous Celeron and Pentium CPUs) that is now my new Plex server. Ijust replaced my old 4th Gen Intel i7 based system with this.

It used to be that you needed a half decent amount of CPU power for Plex, but since these chips include the incredible Intel QuickSync video, it can do all the video transcoding while the CPU laughs and basically remains almost idle. QuickSync video has to be one of my favorite Intel CPU features especially when it is included in the seriously cheap CPUs.

The last issue is the keyboard and mouse. The Logitech wireless keyboard I was going to use doesn't work its matching mouse does, don't know what is going on. I just order another set, $28 bucks. Not in the same universe as my Keychron keyboards but good enough for their intended use

Ist and 2nd thing I did. It takes 2 AAA batteries I have a big supply of them. I have several other keyboards but I need something I can stash out of the way at the radio station.

The last issue is the keyboard and mouse. The Logitech wireless keyboard I was going to use doesn't work its matching mouse does, don't know what is going on. I just order another set, $28 bucks. Not in the same universe as my Keychron keyboards but good enough for their intended use
Do you happen to have the unifying receiver plugged into a USB hub by any chance?

I ran into a really whacky issue when I got my Mac Mini, and tried to use my logitech wireless mouse and keyboard. What I discovered was that USB 3 hubs and devices can interfere with wireless dongles that operate in the 2.4Ghz range. With my unifying receiever plugged into the hub and my mouse barely functioned. I also tested the hub on my PC and found the same issue existed. What ended up working for me was plugging in a USB 2.0 extension cable into the USB3 hub and then get the end of the cable as far away from the USB hub and the Mac Mini as possible and then plug in the unifying receiver to the end of that extension cable.

I'm sure some will think I am talking out of my ass on this issue, but even found a whitepaper from Intel on this topic of wireless interference.

I'm not sure if that would cause the light(s) not to work. On all of my Logitech keyboards the light for the caps lock stays on until I turn caps lock off.

The Keyboard on the Mac Studio is hard wired, the Ergo Trackball is Bluetooth. The Cap's light is not working on the keyboard. The replacement is just $28 bucks. I have a K12 Keychron I could use but there just isn't room for it at the desk.

I paid about the same for my K270 keyboard and mouse combos. I'm a hunt and peck keyboarder so I don't need to invest a lot in my keyboards.
