I am referring to the OS version, not the KB version. I am currently using the 23H2.

Yes! Months ago, the article discussed Microsoft's plan to bring the insider feature (also new 3D Emoji) to the 23H2 official release.

Who knows. I know I don't have them.
The article mentions... "if the app supports them", but doesn't mention which apps?

I have no Office products or most of the Win 11 apps, and I'm on a local account... so I can't really test.

I did the same and had no issues, and yet still haven't been offered the update

And I have (been had) "Get the latest update as soon as they're available" turned on.

Just press "Win+." and check if the emoji panel is the new one or the old one. No need for any extra app :nope:

! It works with the Microsoft apps ecosystem (Edge, Office, Notepad ...).

i do have a question before i install this little enabler on more systems, how do we know Microsoft are going to use this i see its dated September 06?

it would make things easier if we could learn how the files were got hold of, were they in the insider program ? or from a system about to make the update to 23h2?

23H2 was already installed (via Windows updates), in September.
This "Enablement Package" just "turns ON" all the 23H2 features.

The Enablement Package is straight from Microsoft.
It was provided for us by @Brink (Shawn). He's a Windows Insider MVP, and has been for something like 14 years.

He's also, somewhat "more" reliable, than Microsoft.

This Enablement Package isn't some kind of hack or work-around. There's one available for every "feature update".
They were available for Windows 10 feature updates as well.

Did get the latest update as soon as they're available off, the pop up to upgrade to windows 23H2 appear, but when i click download & install, it gave me "Download error with error code 0x80246019"

(Error code 0x80246019: The download failed because the user has no license to download the content.)

Anyone know how to resolve this? Thank you

So I had Copilot enabled in 22H2 (installed the required CU then added ShowCopilotButton = 0x1 to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced), then installed the 23H2 Enablement Package offered up through Windows Updates and now Copilot is MIA :-(
Adding/Removing ShowCopilotButton makes no difference.

Figured out the problem.
Uninstalled the 23H2 Enablement package only to find that whatever feature ids it enabled/disabled weren't reverted, so Copilot was MIA in 22H2 as well :-(
Initially when I installed KB5030310 (after KB5030509 got installed, which supposedly enabled the feature ids) I had to add the ShowCopilotButton registry entry for Copilot to show up in the taskbar, as I couldn't enable it in Settings > Personalisation > Taskbar.
Found an article (How to enable new Copilot AI on Windows 11 - Pureinfotech) that mentioned running ViveTool to enable 5 feature ids, so I used ViveTool GUI to see how these 5 feature ids were set - the 2nd one was only partially enabled. Ran the ViveTool command to enable all 5, rebooted, and 22H2 had Copilot enabled without needing the registry entry. Then upgraded to 23H2 and Copilot is still present.

Sure I get that, but if it was obtained during the insider program it will be a beta enabler, meaning it will turn on entries that were meant to be turned on. inside the insider program, some may no longer be meant to be turned on and it may even be missing entries it's meant to turn on, how do you know it's the same one they are sending over the air to the windows update process found in settings. We may be corrupting our installs with this... It's just a concern that needs addressing as Microsoft support told me not to use this.
