Your issue with “Start Now” is really a non issue. (Obviously is for you though)

I should point out that I gave up on the glitchy Phone Link App..., as far as I'm concerned, it's more of a toy than useful!
I sometimes use Google Messages for Web, other than that, any other interaction with my phone goes via USB cable.
