Laptop loses Internet anytime screen goes black or when laptop sleeps

This is a new issue never had it till a few days ago. Anytime my laptop screen goes off which is set for like 3 or 5 minutes or something on battery power and anytime I wake it up from being asleep the network is off and takes a good moment to get back on the network. I don't think I'm just now noticing it. I looked it up and I tried the main fix that the internet suggests which is going into the network adapter properties and unchecking to let my computer turn off this device. Thanks all. It's a Lenovo IdeaPad from 2023. It's Windows 11 64 bit. Just passed warranty

Control Panel/Device Manager/Network Adapters probably the top one - check power mgt settings (probably uncheck the first one).

I probably wasn't clear. I'm not a computer expert. But I already tried what you suggested. It didn't work for me. Thats the first solution I tried.

Any other suggestions? Why it's doing that now? I also realized recently sometimes for certain work projects I have to do a type of video conference and it may just because my PC is low specs but that killed my internet connection and then when I go to the network down on the right corner of the toolbar the Wi-Fi part would be completely gone I'd have to restart my PC and then it started with that crap where it shuts the network off every time my screen goes out or my computer sleeps.

If you are using hibernate, shut it off and see if that helps
used cmd in administrator powercfg.exe /hibernate off

There are times when I am using zoom where I have to go to (control Panel) power settings and set sleep to never.

how do I shut off hibernate? it does it whether the screen shuts off itself after a few minutes, or if i shut the screen off by pressing the power button, or if i close the lid. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the network driver. I look at updating the driver but the options it gives is to search my computer for an update. why would i have an update stored on my computer? so when i wake the computer even after the screen has only been off for a few seconds it loses wifi and then re-connects automatically. after a few seconds. Am i gonna have to factory reset? will that fix it? pleeeeeeese im so frustrated

Check your power settings.

Control Panel > Power options > System settings. Make sure Hibernate is unticked

Also check Control Panel > Device Manager > Network adapters > (identify the name of your wifi adapter) > right click > Properties > Power Management >untick Allow the computer to turn off etc

I may have fixed it by instead of unchecking oh our computer to turn off I checked it again and then I also checked allow computer to wake

I put a check mark next to both allow the computer to turn off this device to save power, and allow this device to wake the computer. When I had it unchecked it was still doing it I don't know if it still is it seems like it might not be

used cmd in administrator powercfg.exe /hibernate off

that is, rt clock start icon, choose Windows Terminal (admin) and type

i think it's set to one hour or 3 hours but like i said the problem just started recently. after ticking both boxes, (please see my comment above) it stopped doing it.

mine looks different fron yours. it's a laptop, when I clicked both of these items in the network adapter properties, it seems to have fixed it. see above and see my snippets. thanks.

that did fix it by checking both of those boxes but thats so weird cause it never did this before and every fix i find says to uncheck that box but that didn't fix it. also i may be selling this laptop and im betting someone else will never be able to figure that out. now it only loses wifi after it goes into hibernate which is normal but if it sleeps the wifi stays on as soon as i open/wake it
