Morning all, another bright but cold day. Temps have only just crept above freezing.

I'm in shock. I've just got my quarterly gas heating bill. Nearly twice the same period last year. :(

I had my chemo first, six visits to hospital with a drip in my arm for an hour at a time, three weeks between sessions. The first one was early August and the last in late November, so that meant 18 weeks of self-isolation while my immune system was compromised. At least that ended in time to spend Christmas with the grandchildren.

The hair loss didn't start too show until November, but then I didn't have much to start with apart from my beard. What's left of the beard is looking threadbare at present. I'm still waiting for my hair to start growing again, I'm told that could take three or four months.

The radiotherapy is intended to to kill off as much as possible of the prostate tumour, removing/reducing the source to cut the risk of it spreading any further.

Cold and bright here too. Thick frost on the ground where the sun hasn't reached yet. Unfortunately the front of the house where my car is parked doesn't get the sun until the afternoon.

On average my bills will be a third of yours - but only because they are monthly rather than quarterly. Still, three small shocks feels a bit better than one large one.

Yeah, My electricity one is monthly and yes they have increased but that has been offset by the support payment of £67 per month that everyone is getting off electricity bills.

My gas and electric are from the same supplier, so it's a combined bill for both.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Yep my gas bill had a banner urging me to go DD & dual fuel and save up to £113 per year.

I stopped paying by DD a few months back when OVO took over SSE and tried to put the monthly DD up to £880 p/m, I went back on it last month after as the cost per unit was cheaper and they let me setup the DD for £550 which is about right with the current prices.
