Good morning folks its 46°F outside this morning and the sun is finally out ....temps will stay into the high 40's today.
My rain just stopped about 1 hour ago.....we got a mix of snow then rain last night and into early this morning.

It's nice when the sun's out, isn't it? Been sunny all day here and just touched the low 40's. A touch cooler, but more of the same until the middle of next week - and then it may start to snow....

Good day, all you fine people! This seems to be a friendly, pleasant, harmless way to pass the time, so I thought I'd join in on a slow day here at home. We had snow and ice last evening, and we're out in the country on satellite (for our TV reception; we're on fixed wireless for Internet service, and that isn't very weather-sensitive) and you can guess what snow and ice do to a rooftop dish and its receiver-transmitter head. Luckily for the missus, we got some rain mid-evening, and the rain cleared the dish and the head, so she could catch up on her Chicago Med drama.

I hope you all are experiencing better weather where you are than we are here just now.

It's been a cold day here, but dry with sunny blue skies. Looks to stay like that through the weekend. The first real snow of the winter is threatening to arrive the middle of next week.

Good evening, Bree. I hope your snowfall is light enough so that you don't have to shovel. Shovelling is exercise, granted, but it's exercise that a lot of people die from every here around these parts. Overdoing anything is bad, but snow shovelling by definition is overdoing.

I don't know (yet). The weather forecasts keep saying 'it's all a bit uncertain at the moment'. It could be light, it could be heavy. Either way, I won't be shovelling. I have nowhere I need to go, and I'll be stocking up the fridge/freezer this weekend. I'll be able to sit it out until it thaws :wink:

Hello Dan I am in South Louisiana no snow here for the last 15 years I have ATT fiber which is also for my TV streaming I was on Satellite TV but the charges were getting ridiculous so went to free over-the-air and internet. I also have 50% of my house off-grid and use solar for all the little stuff does not pay to do away with a $25 bill when you have to spend $4k for an inverter to do that.

I envy you your Louisiana weather. Agree that we have to watch the charges for Internet and TV services, because they can increase beyond belief. I got a great deal from my ISP, because they are working toward getting out of the satellite business, and they're rewarding long-time satellite customers who are willing to switch from satellite to wireless (I think that's what you called over-the-air) with much faster service and much lower fees. Compared to many here who report their speeds in the Show Us Your Speed thread, mine are still slow, but they're at least three/four times as fast as my satellite was for years, and this new freedom from fear that the next passing cloud will knock out the satellite reception is Grrrrreat!

Yep, Charlie is my name the others are my inside cats. I am on fiber which is 350mbs dl. We have a company here that is offering wireless 5G here. A passing rain cloud here knocks out the satellite TV.

My wireless is 4G, and they promised that 5G was coming and I'll get a free upgrade. We'll see about that. These companies are not the most trustworthy people in the world. If you get a chance to go 5G, I think you'll love it.

Well, I'm delighted to meet the cats. Ours are Murphy and Jennie, and we have a dog we call Zoey. Heather and I have had a total of 13 cats in our life together, and we've loved them all dearly. Zoey is our first dog, and we're lucky to have her. She's a good dog in every sense of the word.

Outside cats do not last long here we have had 4 turn up missing in the last three months.

We've had a couple of hobos from the woods nearby come to live with us, but the rest have been chosen from friends and neighbors' litters. We have a five-foot chain-link fence surrounding a large portion of our property, and the rest of the property is wooded and has coyotes in it from time to time. Unfortunately, Murphy doesn't find the fence a real obstacle, and jumps to the top and then over whenever he feels like it. So far, he's been fortunate. Fingers crossed. Jennie never goes over the fence, and the critters don't come over it onto our lawn, either. Here's the Murph:
