I have finally booked an eye test at the opticians. I was due for my next one just before the covid lockdown, so I'm well overdue. 👓

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

Good for you. I hope everything goes well. I believe regular eye exams are one thing that far too many people overlook. I go on an annual basis for mine. (y)

The recommendation here is to get a test at least every two years. I can't remember when I had my last test, but I do remember that it was already overdue before covid arrived and made it impossible for a while. I've just checked my records, I bought my current pair of glasses over 12 years ago. I'm only just starting to find the smallest of print difficult, so I know my eyesight hasn't changed much.

But that's not the only reason regular eye tests are important. Do you get the 'puff' test? Do you hate it as much as I do? That checks for excess pressure in the eyeball, which can lead to glaucoma.

Honestly Bree, I am not aware what the "recommendation" is here. I have just made it a habit to go every August to see my ophthalmologist. I've never worn glasses or contacts. Always gotten really good reports with the exam. It's just something I like to stay on top of.

Yes, I do get the glaucoma test as part of the exam. :D

I once knew an older gentleman with glaucoma which I think was slowly worsening, and he was my inspiration for my annual exams. At all cost, I want to preserve my vision. :wink:

Edit ~ When he does the glaucoma check, it is done by numbing eye drops, now. No longer the "puff test." Out of curiosity, you might as your Doc about it this afternoon.

Anna loves it also that's why we have a conflict over the thermostat year round.:D Because she is always too cold and I am always too hot .But it all works out I always end up ...giving in to her. so all is good.:D
