Well, I've been putting this maintenance chore off for too long now.

After last night's PT marathon all my machines are up to date and imaged. But I like to have backup copies of all my images, so now I'm off to make sure each of my three backup HDDs has a copy of the latest ones. I may be be gone for a while......

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

That's all the copying done now, my two main system image drives both have copies of the latest image for each of my machines.

I have three HDDs set aside to store system images of all my machines, it take's about 1TB to store them all. In addition to the latest image, I retain as many previous images as possible, just in case. HDD 1 keeps older images from odd numbered months, HDD 2 holds the even numbered ones. Currently those are two identical 2TB drives.

The third drive is nominally earmarked as being for off site storage, a ITB HDD with only the latest images on it. I say 'nominally' because I haven't yet found a convenient place to keep it. For now it's my 'if you do nothing else, grab this one when you leave the burning house' drive :wink:

That one I run as a VM. I probably have more VMs than physical machines, I'm not going to start backing up each one individually, they can wait for next month's backup of the machine they live on :ROFLMAO:

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

It all takes time as it is a lot of dates and some are yyyy-mm-dd XXXX others are yyddmmxxxx and it get very confusing as some of the dates are when the photos were modified not taken
