    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Dev, Beta, and RP 24H2 as native boot vhdx.

I find, with Fast Delta Restore, it's quicker to restore if you have made a b***s up of something than to unpick it so I have restored quite often. :oops:

Yes, I generally update the boot menu. But the rescue sticks only when the release notes say it's necessary. That last time Macrium said that it was would be last November....

I see, I don't use a boot menu on this machine so rely on the USB's if needed whereas on my "test" machine I do have a boot menu

Yes, very much so. I was still on the Isle of Wight when it was on, so I had to watch my recording in the evening. At least that meant that I could fast-forward through the hour it took to restart after that horrendous first lap crash. It also meant that I didn't have to wait for an hour to find out that thankfully no one was hurt.

All my machines have it on the boot menu. The USBs are there as a backup, or for when I want to make an image of a machine that doesn't have Macrium installed.

Did you realise the rescue media can also make images? It's the very first thing I do whenever I get my hands on another PC for my collection, or when working on a friend's PC. That way I can alway put it back to 'as received' condition if necessary.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

I didn't know that Bree, I have never looked into it I must admit. On this one I have auto logon and only one OS so it works fine for me, The other machine has Boot menu and two OS so I restore that quite often but normally just put the usb in and not the boot menu, why? I have no idea
