If you dislike Edge so much, it is easy to remove:

Command prompt as admin:
C: Enter
cd\ (hit Enter)
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application (hit Enter).
Then type cd (don't enter)
hit the SPACE Button and then the TAB button
and then Enter.
Then type
cd Installer (hit Enter)
execute the command :
setup.exe --uninstall --system-level --verbose-logging --force-uninstall
(hit Enter)

Edge stable is now off your system and your life.
I have not experienced any OS issues with Edge being absent.
For Beta, Dev, Canary, modify the path accordingly.

I know I can circumvent and do this. My point is I shouldn't have to go to these lengths to uninstall an app I don't use or necessarily want.

Especially if you are not someone comfortable with using cmd.
