I rebooted after install anyway, as I installed a few things at the same time, and I don't let it run automatically, but when I did run it manually, it worked fine.

Safe to say, though, that yeah, it probably needed a reboot to work correctly.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro.

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Dev, Beta, and RP 24H2 as native boot vhdx.

I am seeing that it takes a long time for the latest Samsung Magician to Start with Win 11, and Defender just tagged it and removed the automatic Start in Services. Anyone else having this issue??

I use the portable version, and yes, it took long to start up, but mine was not flagged by Defender. Probably a temporary FP for Defender.

I have been giving Magician 8.1 for Windows and Android a shakedown because I have a T7 that I move between my laptop and phone while my Deadly Desktop is temporarily down. What I love is that it automatically detaches on Android - which means you can download from UUPDUMP on your phone, save it to the T7, and move it however you want - such as to cloud storage.

I only install Samsung magician to check for new firmware once per year and then uninstalled it. It doesn't do anything "magic" :cool:

That's all I've ever used it for. It's great for firmware updates on new drives. Once the firmware updates dry up, it is no longer useful to me.

It has one trick up its sleeve for which you'd need to keep it installed - RAPID.
I don't use it myself, but I have tested it. It really does what is says on the tin.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

Isn't RAPID same as Trim? You can turn Trim on or off in Powershell.
