Just this afternoon got an update to release version 4.5.33.272, CPV 1.0.2069. This was announced here 12 days ago. No idea why I only got it today.

Same here. On the overlay there was a clickable tab that says Thank You for the Update.
Never saw this before and found it funny.

I saw that, too, and had to chuckle, because the only obvious way to close that panel was to click Thank you for the Update.

The company has program updates pushed through the normal updater (the one that checks for database updates) metered in such a way that it is throttled so not every user is offered the new build once it has been released, so it becomes a matter of probability and is somewhat random. This means that you might be offered it early, or it might take a really long time before it is offered to you, it just all depends. Basically luck of the draw kind of deal.

O, I C. Tx. On reflection, I realize that this is not a security update like those my daily check for updates produces. I guess a measured rollout makes very good sense.

If I may chime in, as far as I remember, Malwarebytes whitelists Absolute Persistence agent and associated software thereof. That is a no-go for me as they should have an ethical zero malware policy, especially for paid products.

I cannot access the Absolute webpage at the moment (warning: every time you do, it loads tons of tracking scripts and cookies), I saw ALL major OEMs, MOST if not ALL major antimalware companies, with notable exception Kaspersky, lots of cloud management providers, Microsoft Defender as CSP, and Microsoft SCCM, being official partners and/or officially supported apps. Including Dell SupportAssist ...

I suggest Spybot Search & Destroy and its Anti-Beacon utility. It's not free, but worth it if not underpriced.

Malwarebytes only allows scheduled scans "at idle time". Used to be able to schedule scans at designated time e.g. 0630 but no more. A step backward.

You are incorrect.
You can set scans as you wish by toggling the following off.
Be aware scans only run when the computer is awake.
