At this time, Malwarebytes 5 is also available directly from our download site.

Currently, we are doing a slow rollout of Malwarebytes 5 via automatic updates as we are working on improving support for some non-standard licensing use cases before rolling out to a wider audience.
Please note that if the Malwarebytes Privacy VPN app is currently installed, the Malwarebytes 5 installer will only install Malwarebytes 4.
If you are using both Malwarebytes 4 and Malwarebytes Privacy VPN, and your products are activated with two different subscriptions or license keys, we recommend that you do not install Malwarebytes 5 at this time.

I'm pleased that my 4.6.9 on my main machine updated to 4.6.10 instead of 5. I'm going to hold onto 4.x as long as possible, because the new annoyances in 5 are too much to put up with until/unless I have to put up with them.

For users who only visit here, MB5 will not be offered through the check for updates in MB4 for quite a while.
I can't go into detail but I had a phone call last week with the product manager and there are still more things to work out before the changeover is offered/pushed to current MB4 users.
This includes many of the gripes I have seen users bring up including yours.

Updated to 5 Manually soon as came out, i just ignore the things i don't use like VPN in it, and seems to be working fine on my 3 Systems

But then again i'm a day 1 installer of everything new, including Windows OS releases, and any other update, always been that way since Windows Update released

NEWS UPDATE: MWB 5.1.1.106 has been released to those who updated to v.5, and it's beautifully improved. Whether or not the changes so far are in response to the complaints and suggestions on the aforementioned forum, they're welcome changes: Plus subscribers now see their VPN info in the balloon that shows when you hover over the tray icon, but regular Premium subscribers don't see anything other than "Malwarebytes Premium." AAAND, the right-click menu has returned to the older content in the slightly changed format, and it's clear of any VPN/Plus upselling (or information, if that's how you feel about it). Three loud cheers for the devs! Yay, yay, yay!
