Loading web pages now very slow

Running Wn11 Version 10.0.22621 (build 22621)

Weird (to me): running Win11 but the version is 10.xx

Anyway, my problem is this: I installed Win11 recently (2 weeks ago) and all went very well. Until this morning.

Now when I click on a link, Chrome (or DuckDuckGo) takes up to 60+ seconds to load that link.

I use Spectrum for Internet. It took 3 minutes to load their main page.

All help is greatly appreciated.

You can run a Clean Boot If that works, you can keep it this way, or you can add one or more Services or Startup Items until the behavior returns, than you will know the culprit.

There are no current threats on my computer.

Some sites time out now. Yet they are pingable.

I tried with Chrome and also DuckDuckGo. Same result.

Uninstall and install the newest version of network card driver.

Delete all Internet temporary files.

Try different DNS servers.

Do the simplest thing first. Test your internet speed. Are you getting what you pay for? Pay attemtion to the ping time that speedtest reports. If it's high, look to your server as the problem. Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test

Clear cache in all browsers.

Disable browser addons
Powerycle your network hardware components (router, modem/interface equipment)

Given the 10/11 issue, I suspect all did not go very well ...

Perhaps latent issues from a faulty Win 10 > Win 11 upgrade (assumed method, although not stated by OP)

Me, 2 options
- whip out existing drive, insert blank and do a basic clean install of Win11. Test
- create Linux distro USB (Mint) and boot from that. Test

If you make a mistake and specify something like this in the driver settings

it will work slowly, although web pages will still open not too slowly.

I would contact your ISP and check that you've got any connection issues. Otherwise, if you're running any browser extensions, disable all of them and see if it makes a difference.

This is good to see. Next time this happens, reboot your router and the modem (if you have one) to see if that fix works.
