Solved login issue

Im using windows 11 pro and have my computer setup to auto log in without adding a password, i have that option unticked inside user info, but recently when i booted up my laptop it asked for for the password which i had forgot, so i left the laptop sitting for a while and it booted into windows so rather that get locked out i took the laptop this morning to a computer technician to help me reset the password, now whenever i boot up the laptop there are two icons mine and another one which i dont know what that is, and i have to choose my account and enter a password, see photos, anyone know how i can fix this as the computer technician doesnt know how to sort it. anyone know what the bottom account is?

Hello mate,

This is normal when you change your account's password after setting up netplwiz to automatically sign in to your account at startup.

You'll just need to set up netplwiz again like in option one below to update netplwiz with the new password.

I carried out the step by step instructions above im now able to autolog in without entering a password but its now taking ages to get to the homescreen, not sure why? also the screen shot i posted above with the user account info any idea what the last one would be xBztWR46xP3?

Is "xBztWR46xP3" listed as an account in option one below? Possibly added by some software to use?

That would be a Microsoft account since it's tied to an email address.

That screen now indicates this is a local account, but you are currently signed in to all apps using a Microsoft account.

This basically makes it a hybrid account.

You can click on the Stop signing in to all Microsoft apps automatically link in your screenshot like at step 3 below to do so.

I'd check in "Settings >Accounts > Other Users" first to make sure it's not something needed and added by an app or service.

You should be able to safely delete the account then. You might create a system image first to be extra safe.
