I'm having a problem with my Logitech G502 Proteus mouse. It keeps randomly freezing and disconnecting. When it does, the lighting setup switches from my preset to a breathing effect, and of course, the mouse pointer won't move. Sometimes this issue affects the keyboard as well (unable to type and the lighting loses its mind). I have looked online and it seems the G502 has some strange issues with disconnecting, but I was hoping that someone here can shed some light on what might be happening.
This is a WIRED mouse.
Things I have tried:
1. Different USB ports - all of the ports in my computer, including the one on the keyboard, and my hub
2. Set USB selective suspend setting is now set to Disabled.
3. Updated Windows, including a repair install last week.
4. Reinstalled the Logitech GHUB software.
5. Removed the drivers and re-installed them for both mouse and keyboard.
6. Disassembled the mouse and cleaned the laser, the button switches and the scroll wheel encoder.
7. Set the mouse device parameters in the GHUB software to reside on the mouse so that the parameters do not come from the PC.
8. Set the reporting speed in the GHUB software to 500. (as advised on Reddit)
So far, nothing has helped. This problem is completely random and seems to happen most when I am playing games. There are no tweaks active in my PC. It is all stock.
I am at wit's end with this. Does anyone have any more ideas? Or am I looking at buying another manufacturer's mouse? (I'm kind of soured on Logitech at this point.)
